Firefighters responded to the fire just after 10:30 p.m., Monday, May 15 after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire on Main Street, said Capt. Kevin Lunnie, of the Danbury Fire Department.

The first arriving units found heavy fire conditions in the rear of the building. Initial reports indicated several occupants were still inside the home, Lunnie said.

The incident commander quickly upgraded the response to a second alarm, bringing several more companies to the scene.

Units worked quickly to search the home and attached commercial occupancies and confirmed all occupants were accounted for.

Despite challenging conditions and access issues in the rear of the building, the fire was brought under control in under 45 minutes, Lunnie said.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Around 13 residents have been displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Danbury Fire Marshal’s office.
